6 Megapixels is Chump...
This sounds very similar to a guy I read about a while ago, but this guy is much more active with his crazy resolution camera than the other guy if indeed they are different people. But still, this camera is incredible. Be sure to look at the pictures as they show the resolution capabilities.Check out the Wired article here...

The gigapixel camera is amazing! First of all that guy is an excellent photographer (regardless of resolution), some his photographs were outstanding, i.e. Torrey Pines, Balboa Park, Golden Gate Bridge, San Diego at night. Then the resolution is flat out sick!!! (as the kids would say). Of course the 100 lb weight factor amd small truck needed to transport is a bit of a drawback, not too mention how much freaking memory you would need to load one of those images into Photoshop. Doing an PS operation such as Unsharp Mask would take like 8 hours!
The hi-res camera is amazing! It's funny all the different things out there that capture people. One day something appeals to you and the next thing you know your building gigapixel cameras, or telescopes or painting in water color. Obsessions come out of the blue.
Speaking of blue, I've attached a really nice photo. It was taken by the Cassini spacecraft. It is a picture of Saturn's moon, Mimas, against a backdrop of Saturn's blue rings.
